Life after the BizTalk 2006 Beta Exam...

... is not too bad.  It was reasonable for a beta exam.  I would say 50% of the questions I was thinking to myself "geez is it really that easy", and the other 50% i was challenged.  I am pretty confident I have a slight chance of passing :)

I guess we will know in 8 weeks time

Will let you know how I go

Squidoo - The World of BizTalk Server 2006

Had a few hours free today, and started experimenting with Squidoo.  Squidoo allows you to create a 'lens' which focuses on specific content, which you can customise!

As I live and breath BizTalk, I thought I would put together a Squidoo Lens around BizTalk.  And here it is - The World of BizTalk Server 2006 - full of resources, blogs, usergroups and webcasts which every BizTalk professional needs to know about.

Do you have any other resources that need to be in the lens?  Let me know!!!

8700 pages of BizTalk Server 2006 Goodness

Don't sit around waiting for a BizTalk Server 2006 book to get started on this great product - especially when the product team have already put together this great resource to learn from.

You can download the PDF version of the BizTalk Server 2006 help file here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=8F3EC693-2865-4B85-8455-745511EA4267&displaylang=en

Mick Badran highlights how good this is!

"Earlier today Paul Woods emailed me telling me about how the BTS Team had converted the help files in PDF format!!!

Sensational I thought! Usually when I create VHDs to keep the size down I dont install VSNET2005 help. Of course BTS relies on this help to be installed so we get in context help.
...the wheels fall off....or I go online.....

Now with the PDF version - how good!!!!"

So get downloading and start reading - or at least keep it handy as your first point of call when you need a hand!

BizTalk Server 2006: Released to Manufacturing!

WOO HOO!  Xbox360 last week, now BizTalk Server 2006!  Get it whilst it is hot!

Seriously, and more importantly, if you are looking to purchase BizTalk in the near future - make sure you get in touch with your Microsoft Account Manager, or local Microsoft Parter to ensure you take advantage of the 20% saving off the cost of BTS06, available until 1 May 2006!

I have downloaded mine already!

... and what does RTM mean these days - I mean do we really send the code to manufacturers to cut DVDs and put into cardboard boxes with the manual, and ubiquitous registration card.  I can just imagine walking into Harvey Norman to pick up 2 procs worth of BizTalk Server 2006 Enterprise... "What do you mean my debit card has a $1000/day limit?"  :)   ... "but hey thats a good deal throwing in Host Integration Server for nothing!, reckon you can throw in a SAP and maybe a Siebel adapter as well?"

Spotlight on Business Process and Integration

... event on Thursday 23 March was a great success!  Thanks to everyone (all 152 of you) that came to listen to me, Bruce Rasmussen, Dimension Data and Data#3 on the topics of Business Process Management, and Integration.

Top marks to Data#3 for winning the competition too - your case study with the National Heart Foundation of Australia (using BizTalk Server 2006, Infopath, and Sharepoint) was great, and it really illustrated the business value of using the Microsoft platform.

There has been a big increase in the use of BizTalk in Queensland over the past year - lets hope it continues to grow!  With partners like Data#3 and Dimension Data skilled up on BizTalk Server 2006, I am sure we are in safe hands.
